Common questions
Is my identity actually anonymous?
Yes – architecturally, not just by policy. Your founder profile and your ratings live in separate tables and are never joined in any response Top Rail returns. Not to the VCs you rate, not to other founders, not to anyone beyond what's needed to verify you're real.
How often can I rate the same VC?
Once every 180 days. The lock prevents both spam praise and pile-on negative ratings, keeping the data calibrated to real interactions rather than mood swings.
How do you verify founders are real?
Every contributor is verified before they can rate, and we re-check periodically. No bots, no PR teams, no competitors leaving reviews of competitors.
Will my VC find out I rated them?
No. Structurally impossible. Your founder ID is never stored in the same database row as your rating. We separate verification from attribution – and then discard the link. Even we can't trace a specific review back to you.
Who can see GP profiles?
Registered founders only. VCs, their staff, and anyone outside the founder community cannot access ratings. We verify every signup.
What if a GP has only a few ratings?
Profiles are hidden until a minimum of 10 verified ratings exist. Thin data is more dangerous than no data.
Is it really free?
Yes. You get 3 free GP profile views to start, plus 1 additional view for every rating you submit – up to 8 total. Full unlimited access is available on the paid plan.
